Senior Photography puts people in my path that I may never otherwise have met. And I will admit my gratitude it is selfish… because these Seniors edify me, and I don’t know if they even realize it.

I started my Rep Teams because when I stopped coaching competitive cheer, I missed the interactions I had with my athletes. There was something I found so satisfying when I saw them “get” what I was trying to teach them. There was something so uplifting in the one on one conversations I had with them.

Lauren came to Team 2019 from Garner Magnet High School. This entire year she has traveled further than any of my Seniors for our Team activities, and she has made every one. I am so thankful for that effort she and her parents have made alone… but her texts, y’all! She just GETS it!

At our first group shoot, with their welcome gifts, I gave each of my team members “kind cards.” They were cute little cards with an uplifting quote or message. With them, I gave them the challenge of looking for people who they thought may need encouragement, and leave a card for them to find.

The next day, Lauren sent me a text about how her Sunday School lesson had been about what we had talked about… and how it was such confirmation for her. Today, I got a similar message about what she will be writing for Project Beauty.

And, after our Team 2019 NYE shoot, where I gave her the prints she ordered from her Senior Session, she sent me this text:

“My prints are wonderful! I can’t thank you enough for everything that you have done for me. You really live up to your word about making my senior pictures an experience and not just a one day event!! I am having so much fun getting to work with you and all the other senior reps! I am so glad I was able to be a part of your team.”

So to Lauren, I say, “OMGGG… ME TOO!” I can’t imagine our team without her on it… and to think at this time last year, we were strangers!

Now I am in the process of meeting the RISING Seniors who will make up Team 2020. I am looking for Seniors for my Teams who want more than just beautiful photos to document their Senior Year.
