Ladies, let’s talk accessories for your photo session.  Guys, or moms of guys, don’t stop reading, this is for you too!

Before I tell you about a great accessories source that I have discovered, let me tell you WHY they are so important for your session.

When I am helping my clients with their outfit choices, I encourage them to choose accessories that define them, and that will help them look modern and trendy, or timeless and classic, all depending on the look we are going for.  That is the obvious.  What I don’t go into until we start shooting, is that their accessories can also help them to feel more comfortable in front of the camera.  Let me explain.

People largely feel uncomfortable taking pictures because they don’t know what to do, especially with their hands.  Though I teach my clients tricks I have learned that will make them look their best, I often give them something to do as we are shooting.  Sometimes I play games, sometimes I say things that will make them laugh, and sometimes I use the accessories they are wearing.

So when I say, “pull down on your sunglasses,” or “play with your watch,” or “hold your necklace,” my teens concentrate on the task, and not the fact I am taking a picture.  They relax, and when I get them to relax, magic happens.

Ok.  I need accessories.  WHERE do I find them?

Because they are so important to what I do, I am always looking for cute, modern accessories to suggest to my people, and BOY did I find a treasure chest in Initial Outfitters and Leslie Acree!

Confession:  I have personally already spent a mint on necklaces, hats, beanies, and bracelets from Leslie.  With Christmas coming, I know I will be buying more.  I also gave all of my 2018 Senior Reps welcome gifts which included items from Initial Outfitters. With Leslie’s help was able to find something that matched the specific personality of each of them.  Yes, even the GUYS!

Plus guys, if you are still reading… mom and girlfriend will love some of these items.  You’d score major points if you came up with something from here for a holiday or birthday.  Just sayin’.

The catalog is chocked FULL of beautiful pieces, and it can be overwhelming for someone like me… except Leslie is a master of listening to my likes and pointing me towards exactly what I am looking for.

So when it was Abbey Acree’s turn to have her senior session, I KNEW she and her mom would have super cute, trendy pieces from Initial Outfitters.

They did not disappoint.

Abbey has a laid back vibe, and even when she is dressed up, her style screams bohemian.  She is cool to the core, and has an unassuming, natural beauty, betrayed by the most captivating eyes.

Naturally, her accessories were minimalistic without looking empty.  She didn’t wear an arm party of bracelets, which some girls love, but kept her choices to two trendy chokers.

As you look through these pictures from her session, it is easy to see that they just… worked.

And guess what?  Leslie is making herself available for all my seniors too!
