The great thing is that regardless of the settings or occasions, what I love most about my job never changes: when my subjects see their images, they feel FAMOUS, BIGGER than LIFE… and doesn’t everyone deserve to feel that once in a while?
I always tell my seniors and their families—one moment it’s January 1st of senior year, and the next… you’re ironing the graduation gown and picking out shoes for the big day. Time flies. And somehow, for the graduates of Roanoke Rapids High School, we’ve already arrived at that final, unforgettable milestone.
Tomorrow, my incredible RRHS Class of 2025 seniors will walk the stage, accept their diplomas, and take their first steps into whatever comes next. Some of them I met recently during prom or sports photos, or their senior photo sessions. Others I’ve known for years—watching them grow up from behind my lens has been one of the greatest joys of this job.
To Blaine, Collin, Paris, Maecy, Charles Anna, Adam, Austin, Terrell, and Sienna—thank you for trusting me with your senior portraits, and for letting me boss you around a little at that beautiful school we all love. I hope you had fun. I know I did. I hope your sessions were filled with laughter, light, and that unmistakable feeling that something big was just around the corner.
And to the moms, dads, grandparents, and close family friends —thank you for letting me into your lives, even for just a short while. It’s a privilege to be asked to document this once-in-a-lifetime event. Capturing the spirit, personality, and pride of your seniors is something I never take lightly. I hope the images we created together become cherished keepsakes for many years to come.
Congratulations, RRHS Class of 2025. Your story is just getting started—and I can’t wait to see where it takes you.
With love and gratitude,
Lymarie
