Rain, Rain, Go Away?
Rain during busy season can be a scheduling nightmare for photographers—but I’ve built flexibility into my calendar for a reason. By limiting the number of sessions I take each month, I can more easily accommodate necessary reschedules and busy senior calendars.
And honestly? I secretly love the pause. It gives me time to slow down, recharge, and pour creativity into retouching and transforming your portraits into lasting works of art.
What Does Retouching Mean to Me?
When you hear “retouching,” you might think of filters or heavily edited images, but that’s not my style. I will never change the essence of who my seniors are.
What I do is more subtle and realistic, so it necessarily takes more time to accomplish: I soften or replace distractions; I enhance natural light; I refine colors and tones. I help you look like yourself on your best day by paying attention to things in my photos others might miss… for example, your skin won’t have blemishes, but it will have texture; I will tame fly away hairs, without making you look like you’re wearing a helmet. Subtle, realistic polishes are my jam.
Afterall, you are beautifully and wonderfully made… I want to celebrate you and who YOU are.
Why I Don’t Outsource My Editing
Many photographers outsource their editing to keep turnaround times quick. That works for some, but not for me. I pour into every single image you receive.
It means you won’t get your gallery back in 24 hours—but it also means each image is hand-edited, crafted with intention, and full of heart. Your senior year deserves more than fast—it deserves meaningful.
And don’t worry, I burn the midnight oil so you STILL get your treasured images in a reasonable amount of time.
