The great thing is that regardless of the settings or occasions, what I love most about my job never changes: when my subjects see their images, they feel FAMOUS, BIGGER than LIFE… and doesn’t everyone deserve to feel that once in a while?
Meet LPJ Rep Team 2026: Sloan, Emily and Aubrey — This group of incredible seniors will spend their entire senior year with me — not only during their deluxe solo sessions but also in a minimum of four themed group photoshoots. Not all the seniors I photograph are on my Rep Team, but these girls aren’t just clients — they’re part of my creative family, helping represent what LPJ Photography is all about: connection, confidence, and both creating and capturing memories.
For their first group shoot of the year, Team 2026 picked a theme that couldn’t have been more perfect as they entered the fall of their senior season: Friday Night Lights.
After I sent over their inspiration board, the girls took off running with it — forming a group chat, swapping styling ideas, and borrowing authentic football jerseys from their high school coaches before changing into their Senior Jeans and the LPJ Team T-shirts I gave them. Have I mentioned how much I LOVE the Senior Jeans trend?
Huge thanks to the Roanoke Rapids High School Athletic Department, football coaching staff, and AD for opening up the RRHS field and letting us have full creative freedom. The results? Absolutely epic.
This year’s team is a little smaller than some in the past, but what they lack in numbers, they make up for in cohesion, confidence, and unreal beauty. Every single one of these girls shines in her own way — and together, they’re magic.
Sloan describes herself as bubbly, smart, and caring — and she’s all of those things and more. She’s also strikingly beautiful and incredibly athletic.
I’ve watched her stunt and tumble… and let me tell you, as a former collegiate cheer athlete and competitive coach myself, I know true talent when I see it — and Sloan is GOOD.
But the mat is not the only place Sloan shines. She’s also a strong contributor to the RRHS girls’ soccer team, which made it all the way to the State Final Four last season.
When she’s not on the field or mat, Sloan loves shopping, beach days, hanging with family and friends, and growing in her faith — my kind of girl!
After graduation, she plans to attend UNC Wilmington to pursue her dream of becoming a CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist). I’ve photographed her before when working with the RRHS Cheer Team, and I’m so thrilled to have her back in front of my camera this year — she radiates in every frame.
Emily is one of those special clients who, along with her siblings, has grown up right in front of my lens. I first photographed her at a dance recital at just three years old — she looked like a porcelain doll then, and still does now!
Her brother Drew’s baseball senior session is still one of my all-time favorites — and her Sweet 16 portraits last year? I’m still obsessed.
When I asked Emily what made her want to be part of Team 2026, her answer absolutely melted me:
“I want to be a rep for this photography team because I truly admire the work and the person behind the camera. She has photographed me for years, and every single time I’m blown away by how she captures not just the picture, but the feeling and memory behind it. I love how comfortable and confident she makes me feel during sessions, and I always leave excited to see the final results because I know they’ll be amazing.
Being a rep would give me the chance to share with others how talented and wonderful she is. I would be proud to represent her and her work because I believe in what she does and know firsthand the quality and care she puts into every photo.”
Cue the tears.
Emily’s passions are dance and cheer, because they have taught her discipline, teamwork, and the importance of keeping a positive attitude through tough times. And that’s been a lesson well learned for Emily this year… two concusions in the last few months have definitely helped her refine her perserverance!
She plans to attend East Carolina University (ECU) next year to study nursing, and I can’t wait to keep sharing her story through the beautiful portraits we’ll create this year.
Aubrey is a powerhouse — she’s a four-sport athlete at Brunswick Academy in Emporia. She cheers, plays volleyball, basketball, and dominates on the softball field, where she’s helped lead her team to state championship wins.
She and her mom discovered my work through past BA seniors and decided to join the fun — and I’m so glad they did. From the moment we met, Aubrey felt like part of the family. She fits with Sloan and Emily like a glove — and like Sloan, she wants to become a CRNA, completing the healthcare trifecta!
Also like Sloan, Aubrey loves the beach, but her dream? To live in “the biggest lake house ever.”
Before our Friday Night Lights photoshoot, we made studio sports portraits for her school’s senior banners — and just this week, we wrapped up her first solo senior session. I’m still retouching those, but when I say wow, I mean WOW.
This raven-haired beauty stunned in every frame. I’ll hold off on the full blog until after her second session, but here’s a sneak peek:
She’s amazing, right? I couldn’t help but share a quick phone snap of my monitor to Instagram Stories yesterday as I worked, and I got this message from her mom, Chrissy:
“I’m speechless!!! Every photo you’ve taken of my girl is breathtaking. So glad we met you and are on this adventure together.”
Same, Chrissy — same. ❤️
This year’s LPJ Rep Team may be small, but they are mighty — full of personality, grace, grit, and beauty inside and out. Their Friday Night Lights senior shoot was the perfect kickoff to what’s going to be an unforgettable senior year.
I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity to photograph these incredible young women, watch them grow, and capture this once-in-a-lifetime season for them and their families.
Team 2026 — I love you girls so big. Let’s make this year legendary.
