As a former coach, I love creating action sports portraits that capture the essence of athletes’ hard work and glory!

The great thing is that regardless of the settings or occasions, what I love most about my job never changes: when my subjects see their images, they feel FAMOUS, BIGGER than LIFE… and doesn’t everyone deserve to feel that once in a while?
At Lymarie Portela Jackson Photography, we want your Senior Portraits to be a reflection of who you are on your best day. But what does that look like? How do we plan for that?
Whether you are a fashionista with a clear vision of what you want to wear, or need strong direction and guidance, we have you covered!
The first thing we do once you schedule your session date with us is to send you our What to Wear and Color Guides to help you get started on your outfit choices.
These Magazines are full of pages with pictures and information that will teach you to dress for your body shape, help you choose colors that best compliment your skin tones, and give you plenty of outfit and accessory inspiration.
Then we start a Pinterest Idea Board. I ask my Seniors to pin anything and everything the see that draws them in.
I tell them, if you like it, pin it. Pins can be about an outfit, a location, a pose, a hair style. As you pin, a clear picture starts to form about what you want your session to look like, and gives us a good starting point in shopping for your looks.
A month or so before the session, our team will meet with you for a fashion consult where we put the finishing touches on all of your looks, including hair and makeup! You bring in what you have, then choose accessories and pieces from our closet, or let us help you purchase the perfect accessories to complete your looks.
When selecting your outfits, we may look to push you slightly out of your comfort zone, but in the end, we want you to be comfortable in what you choose. These outfits should be ones you want to see yourself in years from now… after all, they will be on your parent’s walls!
Pro Tip: When selecting outfits, look for a good variety. We don’t want every look to be too close to the same. Look for variety of season too! It’s cool if we can look like we are shooting in winter, fall, or spring, all in the same session!
Once we choose your outfits at your fashion consult, we will plan the hair and make up, and locations that will make the most out of each look. It is so much less stressful on our Seniors when they KNOW what to expect from their session.
That’s not to say that we may not change our minds and change things up sometimes… I am all about creating in the moment! But a basic plan is good. A basic plan is steady. My Seniors like knowing what to expect.
And what they can expect, is that we are there at every step to help them make their Senior Session everything they hoped it would be, and then some.
