The great thing is that regardless of the settings or occasions, what I love most about my job never changes: when my subjects see their images, they feel FAMOUS, BIGGER than LIFE… and doesn’t everyone deserve to feel that once in a while?
The first memory I have of Whitney, she was maybe 8 years old. Her sister was on a competitive cheer team out of Raleigh with my daughter, Cailyn, and it was her mom’s turn to drive them to tumbling practice… so I volunteered to take Whitney to Tae Kwon Do.
We met at our normal meeting place, traded kids, and we all went in our different ways.
She was this cute little thing sitting in my back seat, and even though I was an adult, and we had never really met before, she kept a full conversation going for the entire 10 minute trip, hopped out of my car in the most bubbly way, thanked me for the ride, and was off to practice.
Fast forward 10 years, and aside from her having grown into a singular beauty, not much else has changed about Whitney and her sweet, welcoming personality.
Everything about her session was pure joy… from her fashion consult where we planned her outfits (the girl has STYLE, and it was SO much fun to take what she brought, and finish the details with items from our style closet. Plus, let’s face it, she is a living, breathing Barbie. EVERYthing looks great on her), to our 3+ hours shooting, to designing the prints and products on her Reveal Night… I would work with her again and again.
Take a peek at some of what we created together. From fashion editorial to portrait pretty, Whitney can do it all. I think you’ll understand why I love to photograph her!
