The great thing is that regardless of the settings or occasions, what I love most about my job never changes: when my subjects see their images, they feel FAMOUS, BIGGER than LIFE… and doesn’t everyone deserve to feel that once in a while?
Ok Seniors and Senior parents, so you’ve read our blogs, and found a photographer whose style and availability matches your vision. You’ve looked at their portfolio and they show both consistency and variety in their work, and the experience they provide is exactly what you are looking for… but there is another thing to consider: how will you preserve the memories held in the portraits you created? How will you preserve the time and monetary investment you just made in your Senior Portraits?
I believe in investing in high quality prints. And I believe in helping my clients navigate through their choices, so they aren’t out there trying to figure it all out on their own.
I get it. I do. I love digital images too. And I provide them for my clients. After all, we live in the age of social media, and digitals are the way we share our lives.
Until our accounts get hacked. Until our hard drives crash. Until technology changes, and we don’t have a way to see those precious files.
Senior Year is a life milestone. You invest time and resources in documenting it with beautiful portraits. I believe in protecting that investment with heirloom quality pieces that will stand the test of time.
You can’t hand down a usb for your children and grandchildren to enjoy because it’s what is INSIDE of it that is the treasure. And while drugstore print labs are good for quick and easy projects, their prints are not built for longevity and are likely to fade over time. Plus, their machines aren’t necessarily color calibrated with consistency, so the output is, well, inconsistent. Maybe the prints they produce will look like the original, but maybe not.
I don’t believe in leaving quality and beauty to chance.
So I researched and have landed on a product line that my clients can count on to display their art for a lifetime and longer. Our print companies honor their quality, so if for some reason anything is off on their end, I have the ability to have them reprint, no questions asked.
And I take care of the ordering so that my clients don’t have to worry about those details, and getting those prints doesn’t get left on a “to do” list that never actually gets done… instead my clients just get to enjoy opening their packages like kids at Christmas, all the work done for them.
But even making the choices of what to print and what products to buy can be overwhelming. I help my clients navigate that too, during our Reveal Nights and ordering sessions.
Let me tell you a little about the value of those:
I will go over the AMAZING experience that our Reveal Nights are for our families in another blog… because I want to share the way we use the night to celebrate our Senior with goodies and emotional slideshows, but today I want to give you a glimpse at the second part of the Reveal Night, which serves as our ordering session.
When they come to their ordering session, my families already have been given a good amount of information about they products they have to choose from and what information they need to bring with them to help them make their choices. After their slideshow image reveal, they get to touch and hold samples from our product line as they decide which are best for them. They learn what makes our albums “deluxe,” or what an image box or storyboard is.
I can try to use words to describe the beauty and quality of what we offer, and how it is different from what can be bought from consumer print labs, but there is nothing like seeing and feeling the difference in person.
Then once my families decide which items best fit their needs, I help them design everything. I help them decide which photos will work best with which products, and we fine tune all the details, so that even before we send everything off to be printed, my clients are already comfortable knowing that the treasures they get back will be perfect!
