The other day I saw a post where a professional used AI to create a headshot of herself for LinkedIn and you know what? It was a good image, perfectly adequate to post as profile photo online.  The question was asked:  “Will AI replace the need for photographers?”  So of course I started thinking, “Will it replace me?”

The short answer is no.  What we give our clients has value apart from just the photos we deliver.  Pretty pictures can be made by computer software, and there are plenty of talented photographers that get great captures in short sessions.  But while the service we give our families at LPJ Photography ENDS with beautiful images that document important life stages, the TIME we invest into our clients through our process is just as important to us as art they treasure at the end.

Full Service Luxury

At LPJ Photography we are a resource at every step.  Our families don’t come away just with heirloom treasures, but a luxury experience.

I feel strongly that the most valuable thing I have that I can give the people I care about is my time.  Where a person chooses to invest their time tells us a lot about their priorities and values. I choose to invest it into my family, my faith, my friends, my clients, and myself (Maybe listing myself seems selfish, but I don’t think so.  Let’s face it, a better me makes me a bigger benefit for all of the people I value.  Self-care is important).

We are a full service, boutique portrait business.  I say “we” because I both am and I am NOT a one-woman show.  I have handpicked other businesses that I partner with to bring my customers the best quality of personal service possible. 

So no. AI can’t replace what I do because it doesn’t have a self to invest.  I take on what my clients could do on their own so they don’t have to… I SERVE them with my time and that’s what makes what we do for them and the experience we create one of luxury.
