Sometimes the best stories begin with a change of heart.

When Leah’s older sister joined the very first LPJ Photography Senior Rep Team, none of us could have predicted that she’d not only have an incredible senior year experience, but she’d also meet her freshman year college roommate. That’s one of my favorite Rep Team success stories because it reminds me that this experience has always been about so much more than photos.

So when it was Leah’s turn to become a senior, her mom naturally encouraged her to join Team 2026.

Leah wasn’t convinced.

The sisters are both talented cheerleaders (Leah will be spending next year cheering on the sidelines for UNC Charlotte athletics), but Leah is more reserved and she honestly didn’t feel like she needed senior pictures—or the Rep Team experience.

And that was completely okay.

Senior Pictures Should Feel Like You

One of the biggest misconceptions I hear is that you have to love being in front of the camera to have beautiful senior portraits.

You don’t.

Some seniors arrive confident from the first frame. Others take a little longer to settle in. Both experiences are completely normal.

My job as senior photographer isn’t just to take beautiful photos—it’s to create an experience where you can relax, feel comfortable, and actually enjoy yourself.

Leah is proof that you don’t have to be the loudest person in the room to absolutely shine in your senior portraits.

Senior Pictures That Celebrate Who You Are

Senior year only happens once, and your portraits should reflect more than what you look like—they should capture your personality, your confidence, and the excitement of what’s ahead.
