The great thing is that regardless of the settings or occasions, what I love most about my job never changes: when my subjects see their images, they feel FAMOUS, BIGGER than LIFE… and doesn’t everyone deserve to feel that once in a while?
The thing I love most about my job is the vehicle it gives me to empower my clients; to show them the best version of themselves, with tangible memory keepers that they can look back upon and remember when….
Every single day I study, I learn, I invest into my photography, so that I can better serve my clients; so that I can be better equip to share with them my vision of them. I am excited for big upgrades happening at Lymarie Portela Jackson Photography, which allow me to pamper the people who trust their precious moments into my hands.
Until this fall, I was a natural light photographer. I studied and used the light surrounding me and to create my image art. But now, I have added studio lighting to my arsenal and could not be more elated to share this capability with my clients, old and new. And no one loves the results more than my athletes!
Let me introduce to you Semaj Smith, RRHS C/O 2017. Semaj is one of the good guys. Smart, kind, athletic, his first love is basketball… and he is a playmaker on the court. I was grateful for the time we spent shooting together. The smile on his face every time I showed him the back of my camera will be with me forever. I am SO grateful to get to do what I do!
Meet Tyler Acree, RRHS C/O 2017. Tyler and I met for our shoot after football practice earlier this fall. He wanted edgy, gritty images to remember his last year suiting up on the gridiron. I LOVED what I was able to deliver to him… and better yet, I think he and his mom loved them too.
I have a special place in my heart for athletes. Whether they play football, soccer, basketball, baseball… no matter the sport, I hope my kids know I am forever their cheerleader. I hope they know how thankful I feel to have been given a chance to capture such an important season of their lives. And I hope they will some day look back on the images I give them and remember the Glory Days, when they were bigger than life, making plays that changed game outcomes, sacrificing for teammates and coaches, as their whole town was there to cheer them on.

[…] Tyler Acree’s gridiron video can be seen here. This one may seem a little less sentimental and more gritty… but mom still teared up. Hey, moms are entitled to proud and happy tears!
